Stock Transfer Form

The Stock Transfer Form is a standard document needed for transferring shares. The current shareholder has to complete and sign the Stock Transfer Form in order to provide legal validation for the transfer of shares to potential or existing new shareholders.

The Stock Transfer Form is also known as the J30 Stock Transfer Form and is ideal for transferring fully paid shares. However, in the case of less common transfers of partly paid or unpaid shares, you can use the J10 form.

As of 12th March 2008, the current shareholder will have to pay Stamp Duty on share transfers worth more than £1,000. In addition, the current shareholder should send the Stock Transfer Form within 30 days along with the payment for Stamp Duty. Then, the Company Secretary should register the Stock Transfer Form in the Statutory Register of the company. Furthermore, the company should retain the Stock Transfer Form in its Statutory Records for the purposes of safety.
